Switching service

ABC Switching Service, a relaxed start.

Want to switch to ABC, but your current contract is still running? We're happy to make the switch easier.

During the last two weeks of your notice period your child can join free of charge on your agreed ABC contract days. That way your child already discovers our Sporttracks, gets to know the coaches and feels at home on our Sports and Development Campus.

During this period you still pay your current provider, but nothing to ABC. The paid period at ABC starts right after your current contract has ended.

Learning to move in every way, a lifetime of fun.

We plan the switch together

  • You sign a contract with ABC and share the confirmed end date of your current contract.
  • We schedule at most two consecutive weeks of free participation, directly before that end date.
  • The offer applies on your agreed ABC contract days and times, subject to available places and confirmation by ABC.
  • You arrange the cancellation with your current provider yourself; we're happy to help with the planning.
Why sports after-school care

Movement in the Netherlands is a quiet crisis.

Children in the Netherlands move measurably less, and in fewer ways, than they did ten years ago. Those who do play sport often play just one, with injuries and drop-out as the result. And regular after-school care, where your child spends three hours a day, structurally lacks any real movement policy. That is not an opinion: research by the Mulier Instituut among others shows that children's motor skills have measurably declined, and the Kenniscentrum Sport & Bewegen underlines the importance of varied movement.

“Children who keep moving at a young age are far more likely to stay active as adults.”Telama et al., 21-year longitudinal study

01
Early intervention
The after-school hours are exactly the hours when children are most available for development. We do what school and sports clubs cannot do on their own: structure and variety together.
02
Variety as a principle
Our programme is built so that after a quarter a child has balanced, tussled, climbed, rolled, swung and danced. Ten fundamentals, not a single sport missed.
03
Public health, in disguise
We are an early public-health intervention, disguised as after-school care. Fun on top, science underneath.
04
Outdoors, always
With us the door opens whatever the weather. Raining? Then we head into the woods to climb, or run down the hill. That's Friluftsliv: moving outdoors isn't a fair-weather bonus, it's the whole point.
An afternoon at ABC

Four hours, thoughtfully built.

Every afternoon follows the same rhythm. Structure creates safety, and within that safety children dare to explore. So they know what to expect, and we know every fundamental gets its turn.
14:00 · 14:30
Pick-up
We collect your child from school. On foot, by cargo bike, or along fixed, safe routes.
14:30 · 15:00
Landing moment
A warm welcome indoors. Fruit and a drink, and room to share the story of the school day.
15:00 · 16:15
Movement programme
Two to three fundamentals woven together, outdoors, matched to the age and energy of the group.
16:15 · 17:15
Free play
Own initiative within safe boundaries. The space is set up so children naturally meet several fundamentals along the way.
17:15 · 18:00
Wind-down
Tidying up together, a short look back, and a personal handover to you at pick-up.

On Wednesdays and Fridays the afternoon starts at 12:00 for several schools. This schedule is the base.

No report cards.Ten badges to be proud of instead.

Every fundamental a child has explored earns a real fabric badge. Not for being best at it, but for having tried. No test, no ranking. Just a “you showed it” moment. Every child collects all ten at their own pace.

And once you’ve got all ten?

Together your badges form the complete Core Map: the ten fundamental movements around the core. You’ve literally completed your very own Base Camp.

Coverage at a glance

A visual Core Map for each child, which fundamentals did your child get to explore this week?

A trained mentor

Every permanent pedagogical staff member is ASM-trained before they take a group. A dedicated mentor per child, a consistent thread in the app.

The difference is in the team

Pedagogically trained and ASM-trained.

Every permanent staff member at ABC Sport BSO is ASM-trained (sports science and physical education programmes) before they take a group, alongside the statutory qualification childcare requires. That training is about all-round movement, and you will see it on the mat.

A dedicated mentor per child, not 'someone from the team'
Monthly peer review on observation & play forms
The team lead will also take the ASM Specialist and policy training
