What does my child get, every week?

The short answer: ten fundamentals, five afternoons, one consistent mentor, and a parent app where you see it all again. The long answer is below.

Group structure

Three groups, three stages of development.

A four-year-old and an eleven-year-old need very different things. That's why we work with three fixed base groups, each with its own focus, pace and level of challenge.

Age · Ages 4 to 6

Base Camp Explorers

Discovering through play and exploring the fundamentals. Getting familiar with the group and the place, with maximum safety as the foundation.

Age · Ages 7 to 9

Base Camp Rangers

Focus on cooperation, coordination and challenge. Motor skills deepen through ever more varied forms of sport.

Age · Ages 10 to 12

Base Camp Pioneers

Independence, leadership and more complex disciplines such as survival. Personal responsibility takes centre stage here.

Practical

The six questions we're asked most.

Opening hours

Mon, Tue, Thu and Fri 14:00–18:00, Wednesday from 12:00, holidays from 8:00. Five afternoons per week per child.

Pick-up & drop-off in Kloosterveen

No car ride, no stress! We safely collect your child from the primary schools in the Kloosterveen neighbourhood. Your child has already had a great time doing sport and is ready in sports kit at our campus in the evening. Do you live in another part of Assen? Depending on interest per school we are looking into extending our pick-up service, although we cannot make any firm commitments in advance.

Clothing & kit

Your own sports clothing, or ABC sportswear to order, including sporty rain gear. Changing is done at the club; showering only under a parent's supervision.

Allergies & diet

Reported during registration, recorded in the file, visible to every guide.

Pick-up by others

Give others permission via the parent app. Including temporary codes for grandparents and babysitters.

Ill or a day off?

A tap in the app, no phone call. We arrange the swap ourselves.
Rates & allowance

Two packages, one programme.

Every child gets the same pedagogical programme: the same team, the same ten fundamentals, their own mentor. The only difference between the packages is the number of holiday weeks: one all-in hourly rate, including the sports programme and holiday events.

ABC Standard

ABC Full-Year

52 weeks · every holiday
€ 11,33 /hour
Tip · since 2023 the number of subsidised hours is no longer tied to the number of hours you work: you receive allowance for up to 230 childcare hours per month per child, and for after-school care you stay well below that. The condition that you do work, study or follow an approved programme (you and any partner) still applies. The maximum hourly rate for after-school care is € 9,98 in 2026.
Costs & calculator

Premium talent development, priced smarter than you'd think.

At ABC your child gets professional Sport Tracks every afternoon, adventure outdoors and calm in our Camp Lounge. Thanks to the Dutch childcare allowance that is surprisingly affordable for most families.

One transparent all-in rate

€ 11,33per hour
€ 9,98 covered by the allowance€ 1,35 your own contribution

No separate invoices and no surprises afterwards. Of every hour, € 9,98 falls under the childcare allowance. The government reimburses that part, depending on your household income, up to 96%. The difference is your own contribution to the sports programme.

All of this is included

  • Weekly rotating Sport Tracks: hockey, football, survival and resilience, together with our partners.
  • Sports professionals who help your child grow every afternoon: physically, cognitively and emotionally.
  • Safe transport from school, by electric cargo bike or in our supervised bike train.
  • Base Camp: landing in the Camp Lounge, with calm and healthy food after a busy school day.
  • Holiday sports events during the school holidays.

What do you pay net?

At ABC you invest in all-round movement, self-confidence and fun. Our hourly rate is € 11,33. Through the childcare allowance the government reimburses up to 96% of € 9,98 per hour, depending on your joint assessment income. The amount above this allowance cap, € 1,35 per hour, you pay yourself. On top of that you pay the income-related own contribution over € 9,98.

Two sports afternoons a week?from about€ 68net per month

For one child on the 46-week package, with 96% childcare allowance.

We are open five afternoons a week. On average families take three, so that is what the examples below are based on. Take more or fewer and the amount moves proportionally.

Study days

With the 52-week package, study days are included in the all-in rate. With the 46-week package you book them separately.

Tip: covered all year round

With the 52-week package your child gets six extra holiday weeks full of sport, adventure and outdoor fun on your agreed contract days. At a joint assessment income of € 80,000 that costs about € 37 net extra per month for one child. With 96% childcare allowance it is about € 24 extra per month. That way the holiday weeks are sorted too.

How are these amounts calculated?
  1. We are open five days a week; the examples calculate with 3 days a week, the average families take.
  2. The hourly rate is € 11,33. Of that, € 9,98 falls under the childcare allowance; the difference is always yours to pay.
  3. Over that allowance part the government reimburses a percentage that drops as your household income rises, up to a maximum of 96%.
  4. We divide the yearly cost by twelve, so you see one fixed monthly amount instead of expensive and cheap months.
  5. What you actually pay depends on your own situation. The Dutch tax office's trial calculation gives the exact amount.

Transparent about the small print

  • The amounts are indications based on the hourly rate of € 11,33 and the 2026 childcare allowance. No rights can be derived from them.
  • At three days a week we calculate with an average of 58.5 contract hours per month for the 46-week package and 72 contract hours for the 52-week package.
  • Household income is the joint assessment income of you and your allowance partner, if any.
  • You must meet the conditions for childcare allowance. A maximum of 230 hours per child per month applies; this maximum is not linked to the number of hours you work.
  • The amounts for two children apply when both children take the same package and the same number of days.
  • For the allowance, the child with the most contract hours counts as the first child. A higher reimbursement percentage may apply to a next child.
  • Differences between packages are calculated before rounding, so the difference between the rounded table amounts can be off by one euro.
  • Calculate your personal situation with the trial calculation of the Dutch tax office.

Switching service

ABC Switching Service, a relaxed start.

Want to switch to ABC, but your current contract is still running? We're happy to make the switch easier.

During the last two weeks of your notice period your child can join free of charge on your agreed ABC contract days. That way your child already discovers our Sporttracks, gets to know the coaches and feels at home on our Sports and Development Campus.

During this period you still pay your current provider, but nothing to ABC. The paid period at ABC starts right after your current contract has ended.

Learning to move in every way, a lifetime of fun.

We plan the switch together

  • You sign a contract with ABC and share the confirmed end date of your current contract.
  • We schedule at most two consecutive weeks of free participation, directly before that end date.
  • The offer applies on your agreed ABC contract days and times, subject to available places and confirmation by ABC.
  • You arrange the cancellation with your current provider yourself; we're happy to help with the planning.

Safety & health

What we've arranged, before you have to ask.

Climbing, play-fighting and jumping sound riskier than they are, provided it's done methodically and the basics are in order. This is what sits underneath our approach.

Risk assessment

A formal inventory and evaluation of safety and health risks, covering every space and every activity.

Four-eyes principle

Strictly maintained: a second adult can always see or hear what is happening.

Reporting code

The statutory Reporting Code for Domestic Violence and Child Abuse, actively applied and known to everyone on the team.

First aid & emergencies

First-aid certified staff, plus up-to-date evacuation and emergency plans.

Background check for all

A valid Certificate of Conduct (VOG) is mandatory for every member of staff, no exceptions.

Specific protocols

For missing children, inappropriate behaviour, medication and extreme heat. Always current, always known to the team.

Quality & involvement

What you may read, without having to ask.

A number of documents belong in the open: for you as a parent, and for the Dutch health authority that inspects us. They are gathered here, no login and no searching.

For the hesitant parent

"My child isn't really sporty."Then this is exactly the place.

Our ten fundamentals are made precisely for children who haven't yet found their preference. We don't measure performance. We offer variety and fun.

With ten base movements, the odds are good that every child comes across something they enjoy. Sometimes it's climbing. Sometimes music. Sometimes play-fighting. We force nothing, we invite.

Frequently asked questions

What we hear the most.

What if my child isn't very sporty?

Then they're in the right place with us. Our ten fundamentals are made precisely for children who haven't yet found their preference. Fun is the starting point, not performance. Nobody has to join in with everything: a child who doesn't dare to roll, climb or dance yet gets the time to try it in their own moment.

How safe is play-fighting & wrestling?

Safe, because it's methodical. Play-fighting is one of the ten fundamentals, with clear rules (no face, no pain, stop means stop). Our guides are ASM-trained and trained in supervising physical contact. Because children learn where their own limit is, and where someone else's is, it stays a game instead of turning into a fight.

Does this fit within the childcare allowance?

Yes. Our hourly rate is € 11,33 all-in, for both packages. You receive childcare allowance over the maximum hourly rate for after-school care (€ 9,98 in 2026); you pay the part above that yourself, while the sports programme and holiday camps are already included.

My child has ADHD/autism/something else. Is that possible?

We're happy to work together with you. Book an introductory visit first so we can discuss what your child needs. We're not special-needs after-school care, but the steady rhythm and the physical outlet can work well for children with a diagnosis.

Do parents get report cards?

No. Deliberately. A report card says something about performing; we don't assess your child and we never rank them against another. In the parent app you see what your child has done and which fundamentals were offered this month: descriptive for you as a parent, not a grade about your child.

What about food and breaks?

Every afternoon a healthy moment around 15:00, fruit, crackers, sometimes something warm. No fizzy drinks or sweets. For allergies we adapt accordingly.

See it first. Then register.
