Where you'll work

Learning to move in every way, a lifetime of fun.

That is what ABC Sport BSO stands for.

From January 2027 we welcome children aged 4 to 12 at Hockeyvereniging Assen in Kloosterveen. With sports pitches, outdoor space and our Camp Lounge, we have a great basis for a varied afternoon.

Broad motor development is at the heart of what we do. From jumping and balancing to throwing and climbing: children discover what they can do, each at their own level.

We also offer sport tracks such as:

  • Hockey
  • Football
  • Survival
  • Resilience

We also pay plenty of attention to playing together, dealing with emotions, independence and relaxation. Our pedagogical professionals and sports professionals complement each other in this.

Pedagogical staff member ABC Sport BSO Assen

At least one fixed afternoon a week + on-call hours

  • Assen, Kloosterveen
  • Starts January 2027
  • Children aged 4 to 12
  • Scale 6, Dutch childcare CLA

Do you give children a warm welcome, see what they need and help them grow in self-confidence? And do you enjoy working in a place where playing, moving and being outdoors are part of every afternoon? Then come and help build ABC Sport BSO in Assen!

We are looking for a good mix of pedagogical staff and sports professionals: colleagues who each bring their own knowledge, experience and talents. You don't have to be a sports expert yourself: your pedagogical strength is at least as valuable to us.

Your role at ABC

You turn the afternoon after school into something to look forward to. You offer children trust, personal attention and clear guidance. You see who is keen to join in, who needs a little support and who is looking for some calm or a listening ear.

Together with your colleagues you create active and relaxed afternoons. You guide games and movement activities, support sports trainers and bring your own ideas. From a team game outdoors to a quiet moment in the Camp Lounge: you help children feel at home.

Help build from the start

ABC is a start-up organisation with ambitions to grow. We are looking for colleagues who enjoy building something together and sharing ideas about the day-to-day care.

You start with at least one fixed afternoon a week, plus on-call hours by agreement. As ABC grows, there will be room to expand your hours.

What we offer

  • Salary according to scale 6 of the current Dutch childcare collective agreement (cao Kinderopvang), depending on relevant work experience and pro rata to your hours.
  • Terms of employment in line with the cao Kinderopvang, including holiday allowance, end-of-year bonus, leave and pension.
  • At least one fixed afternoon a week of about four hours, with additional on-call hours by agreement.
  • The prospect of more hours and a permanent job as we grow and if we are both happy.
  • A workplace with plenty of room for outdoor activities and a cosy Camp Lounge.
  • A team in which pedagogical knowledge and sporting talents strengthen each other.
  • Short lines of communication, personal involvement and room for your ideas and professional development.

Are you…

  • In possession of a diploma that qualifies you to work in after-school care?
  • Someone who offers children a warm welcome, trust and clear boundaries?
  • Involved in children's development and attentive to what they need?
  • Enthusiastic about playing, moving and being outdoors, without having to be a keen athlete yourself?
  • Available for at least one fixed afternoon a week?
  • Someone who enjoys working together and helping to build a new organisation?

Then we'd love to meet you!

A different background?Do you have a pedagogical background, a qualifying sports education or another suitable qualification? We'd love to hear what qualities you bring.
Still studying? Are you still following a relevant programme? Feel free to respond. Together we'll look at whether your programme and study progress already make you eligible to work as a qualified staff member.

Volunteer vacancy

Camphost ABC Sport BSO Assen

Volunteer · one or more afternoons a week, by agreement

  • Assen, Kloosterveen
  • Starts January 2027
  • Children aged 4 to 12
  • Volunteer work

Are you someone who loves giving people a warm welcome? Do you enjoy seeing children play, move and relax, and are you happy to lend a hand? Then become a Camphost at ABC Sport BSO in Assen!

As a Camphost you are the welcoming face of our Camp Lounge. You support our team, so that the pedagogical staff and sports professionals can give the children their full attention. You don't need a pedagogical or sports qualification: your involvement, hospitality and a helping hand are very valuable to us.

Your role as Camphost

You make sure the Camp Lounge is a nice place to come into. You help set out a healthy snack and drinks, keep the lounge tidy and cosy and make sure materials are ready for the afternoon.

You are also an extra pair of hands during activities: joining in a game, helping a child with their coat or a quiet moment in the lounge. You always work together with, and under the guidance of, our permanent colleagues.

After all the moving there is time for rest, healthy food and being together in the Camp Lounge. That is exactly where you make the difference as a Camphost.

Help build from the start

ABC is a start-up organisation with ambitions to grow. We are looking for volunteers who enjoy building something beautiful together and sharing ideas about how the Camp Lounge can become a real home base.

How much time you give is something we decide together. One fixed afternoon a week is great, but we are happy to see what suits you. If you would like to step in now and then, we'd love to hear from you too.

What we offer

  • Meaningful volunteer work in a place where children enjoy moving and relaxing.
  • A warm, cosy Camp Lounge and plenty of outdoor space at Hockeyvereniging Assen.
  • A committed team that shows you the ropes, guides you and is always there for your questions.
  • Flexible commitment: you decide, by agreement, how much time you give.
  • A volunteer allowance by agreement.
  • The cost of your Certificate of Conduct (VOG) is reimbursed.
  • Short lines of communication, personal involvement and room for your ideas.

Are you…

  • Hospitable, friendly and someone who gives children and parents a warm welcome?
  • Someone who likes to roll up their sleeves and sees what needs doing?
  • Reliable and patient with children?
  • Someone who enjoys working in a team?
  • Available one or more afternoons a week, or now and then as a stand-in?
  • Willing to apply for a VOG and register in the Dutch childcare personnel register (Personenregister Kinderopvang)?

Then we'd love to meet you!

For everyoneAre you retired, older, a student, or just looking for a nice way to spend your afternoon? Everyone with a heart for children is welcome.
Good to knowAs a Camphost you always work alongside our qualified colleagues. You are a valuable extra, not a replacement for the permanent team.
